UK FreeView Channel Logos

UK FreeView Channel Logos in Channel Logos July 15th, 2009

A channel logo pack for UK freeview channels that I created one night whilst bored. Made/Designed to give a bit of eye candy for those using Windows 7 Media Center.

Instructions are below, as well as in the RAR file.

Please enjoy, and do comment if you download and use them!

Download UK FreeView Channels

Please follow the below instructions carefully to replace your UK Freeview channel logos.

This pack has been designed from the ground up by myself using each channel logo for the respective broadcaster from the internet and in all but a few cases, edited completely to be compatible with Windows 7 Media Center for viewing on your HD TV – be it in 720p, or 1080p!

This pack (and set of instructions) assumes that you already have the ‘My Channel Logos’ utility installed. If not, head on over to – [link] Be aware that this utility (as stated on the website) is only compatible with windows 7 Media Center (x86 & x64) AND NOT Vista Media Center, even with the TV-Pack installation.

Now, My channel Logos comes with some very well designed Channel logos optimized for your Media Center viewing, but none of them are in colour!

I have downloaded a few other TV packs for UK channel logos before, but none have quite suited what I wanted or been very clear to see. that is why I designed this pack.

Please Note:
The pack contains all the logos for channels that I currently use inside Media Center. Some channels I disabled because I am not interested in them, or cannot receive until I get/pay for ‘Top-up TV’. As such, some logos may be missing depending upon your setup. Drop me an email at the address below or on Deviant Art, and I will happily fulfill any request to complete your own viewing experience. even better if you can provide me with a base logo to start with and I will edit it from there!

On to the installation!…..

NOTE: If you only want to replace SOME of your icons with the ones from this pack, jump straight to point number 7.

THIS PACK IS INTENDED FOR UK FREEVIEW CHANNEL OWNERS ONLY – COMPATIBILITY AND DESIGNS ARE NOT INTENDED FOR ANY OTHER USE.

1. Assuming you want to replace ALL your previous logos (be them from another pack or the white plain ones that came with the install of MCL); with the ones in this pack – extract and copy the icons into:
C:\Program Files\My Channel Logos\Logos\
-or if you’re using 64-bit Windows 7…..
C:\Program Files (x86)\My Channel Logos\Logos\
… and replace/overwrite any icons it asks you to with the ones you’ve just extracted.

2. Go to:
C:\ProgramData\MyChannelLogos\
…and delete all the icons present in there. Don’t worry – they’ll be replace with these ones soon enough. DO NOT PASTE THE ICONS INTO HERE THOUGH!! – JUST LEAVE THIS FOLDER NOW EMPTY.

3. Launch the ‘My Channel Logos’ configuration application. (You might want to launch it in Administrator mode jsut to avoid any ‘directory writing’ issues.

4. Click “REMOVE ALL” on the MCL config application.

5. Now click “AUTO POPULATE LOGOS”

6. 69 icons (all the ones from the pack) should be added seamlessly! Close all the folders and this application and enjoy your new Media Center guide!

—————
—————
7. Of course… if you just want SOME of the icons from this pack, simply load the MCL config application up to start with and only replace the logos you want by selecting the current channel, clicking its logo thats already present and pick the replacement one from the pack. All the copying/replacing will be done for you so dont worry about any of the previous steps!
